Toohey Forest Environmental Centre
Nestled in the ground of
Griffith University is the Toohey Forest Environmental centre which the
Grade Seven classes visited in July. It was an interesting day when we
learned about how it is possible to build houses that are more
environmentally friendly and recyclable even! Group activities horrified
us when we learned that most of us use so many resources there would
have to be 10 or even 20 worlds to support our lifestyle and use, or
abuse, of the environment. A really enjoyable task
was to use solar energy to help run some amazing constructions such as
racecars, Ferris wheels and merry-go-rounds. Even though it was a fun
activity-filled day, we all learned about how we can better use and care
