YEAR 4:

There are threeYear 4 classes in 2009. Our teachers are Mrs Lydia Daish, , Mrs Roseann Kopp and Mrs Barbara Chippendale. You can write to us at:
Year 4C (Mrs Barbara Chippendale)
Year 4D (Mrs Lydia Daish)
Year 4K (Mrs Roseann Kopp)

Here's some of our work:

In 2009, the Year 4 classes once again went to Marantha Recreational Camp at Yandina on the Sunshine Coast for one night. The children had a great time and wrote some reports to go with their photos. Click here for some photos. On Thursday, 29th May 2008, 105 year 4 students and 10 staff went to Marantha Recreational Camp at Yandina on the Sunshine Coast. We went for 1 night as a part of our unit of inquiry into ‘Who we Are?” – Healthy Lifestyles. Click here for some photos.
During our inquiry into the aboriginal and English interaction in Australia, students from Year 4D at Rochedale State School started talking about dot painting. After viewing Aboriginal art on the computer, the class chose to either do a dot painting or a boomerang. Click the picture for examples of 4D's art work. Before the 2007 Christmas school holidays, Year 4 students were visited by our local police officer. He spoke to us about safety, particularly taking care when riding our bikes. It was great fun hearing the siren and seeing all the gadgets in the new highway patrol cars! Click the police car to see some pictures.
Year 4R wrote some great stories about a Sea Creature's Ocean Adventure during their Theme on the Great Barrier Reef. Click on the shark for some of their stories for you to enjoy. On 20 February, 2002, all the Year 4 classes went to the Redlands Museum as part of their Social Studies unit. Click on the picture to have a look at their photos and the children's own comments on their excursion.
Kimberley in Year 4 has written  a great story titled "Rescue from the Bush Fire." Click on the fire to read her imaginative and well written story.

Joshua in Year 4 did a great project on Tasmania. What a lot of information he has included in this wonderful project. Please click on the map of Tasmania to learn more about the "Apple Isle."

Year 4 at Rochedale State School do a theme in class about the sea each year. At the end of the theme to learn more about sea creatures, all the classes travel to Sea World on the Gold Coast for the day. They have a great time and learn a lot as well as having lots of fun as you can see by their stories. Click the dolphin to read them.
Year 4 at Rochedale State School went on their annual excursion to the Reptile and Fauna Park at Beerwah, on Wednesday, 1 April, 1998 as part of their theme on Reptiles. They saw many amazing reptiles and learnt a great deal about these fascinating creatures. At school, they did some great Projects on Reptiles which they are proud to present for your enjoyment. Click on the snake to have a look at their projects and pictures from their Excursion. Year 4 have studied rainforests and Daniel, Ben, and Amy have written interesting stories about "The Day I Saved the Rainforest". If you listen carefully, you might hear some rainforest sounds too!
