Year
1S children had a visit from the Imagination Show. The children than cam
back to the classroom and made some great imaginative pictures of things
they had seen. Some children also wrote a report on the show which we have
included with out pictures.. |
On
Monday, 25 August 2002, Year 1 children at Rochedale State School, celebrated
Book Week. In the morning they had a dress up parade which their parents
attended. Children dressed as pirates, mermaids, sailors and sea animals

On
Tuesday, 12 August,
2002,Year 1 children at Rochedale State School, walked to Itzstein's
hydroponic lettuce farm in Miles Platting Road at Rochedale, just
down the road from the school. They began their tour in the seed room and
the moved to the netted areas where the students were able to observe the
various stages in the growth of lettuce. Here's their

Year 1
have been learning all about Spiders and have written some great Acrostic
Poems using the word
"S P I D E R" to start each line. We think they've done a great job on them.

The Year 1's
visited the Science Centre in Brisbane to see all the interesting
displays. Thanks to all the parents who came along to help out. We had a

1's had a visit from Dr Tyman, who lived for 8 months with the Inuit people.
The children dressed up in some Inuit clothing and really enjoyed Dr Tyman's

For
Education Week, the Year 1 classes had heaps of activities. Year 1m and Year
3b had an Open Morning for the parents on Tuesday, 18 May, 1999. |
Year
1 had their Open Day for Education Week on Wednesday, 19 May. They
had a great BBQ lunch as well and outside activities after lunch. |
On
Thursday 20 May, in the afternoon the Year 1's were very excited to have the
fire brigade visit. The firemen showed the kids survival techniques and all
had great fun! |
To
finish off the week, on Friday, 21 May, the Year 1's, 2's and 3's had a
concert in our Assembly Hall. What a great weeks we had!! |
The Year Ones went to visit Old MacDonald's Farm
again this year when it came to the school. They really enjoyed petting all
the animals as you can see if you click on the picture.
