Once upon a time there was a koala called Sarah who lived in a eucalyptus tree in New South Wales. Sarah was a very friendly koala who let people pat her and she liked eating leaves.

Sarah was very cuddly and one day some men came into Sarah’s bush to cut it all down. A big dog also came and started barking at Sarah. Sarah was very scared so she climbed higher in the gum tree.

The people who were Sarah’s friends saw what was happening to Sarah. They chased the dog away and told the men not to cut down Sarah’s tree. The men said that they could leave just that one tree especially for Sarah to live in. Sarah was very happy with this and came down from the top of the tree so the friendly people could give her another cuddle and some fresh leaves.

Sarah lived in her tree for a long time and was very happy to have her own tree.
