The new Prep classes for 2013 got off to a wonderful start at Rochedale State School!
This year we welcomed 5 classes of little ones to our school community
again, the same as 2012. Prep enrolments for 2014 open on Monday, 4
February, 2013.
Prep is full-time, non-compulsory and
is available at all primary schools across the state so there won’t
be any waiting lists. The change will bring Queensland more into
line with other states and territories.
It’s generally accepted that a Prep Year can
go a long way to preparing children for Year 1, and recent research into
the Queensland Prep Year trial supports this belief. You only have to
look at our Prep students to see how they've progressed this year. Last
year's Prep children, now in Year 1, are really surprising their
teachers with how much better prepared they are for Year 1 than in
previous years when the children had not been to Prep.

In Prep, children learn through inquiry,
investigation and play — known as active learning. It’s a powerful way
for children to develop important skills and the right attitude for
school.
Birth Certificate
A birth certificate or passport for your child must be sighted by school
staff before a Prep enrolment can be finalised.
We look forward to welcoming you into our
school community.
