On Friday, 3 March, 1998 our class had a Pirate Day. We had been learning about the Sea this term and finished this theme with the "Robbers of the Sea".

The children enjoyed learning about the Jolly Roger and following treasure maps. The 2A Pirates really enjoyed following their own treasure map od hidden treasure in the playground. They were very excited when they discovered the "buried" treasure in the garden and they eagerly shared the booty. This was followed by an enactment of a pirate plunder on a make-believe pirate ship.

The children really enjoyed dressing up and joining in the the pirate activities.

Here are some fierce pirates.	These girl pirates are having a great time.
"I'm going to get you!"	"Take that!" says our pirate , while his victim ducks for cover.
"I'm a MEAN pirate!"	Having a fun time on Pirate Day.
"Action me hearties, we'll get you!" yelled the pirates.	These children have drawn their cutlasses while the others look on.
This band of happy pirates are ready for action.	"I'll get you with my hook!" says this Pirate.

As you can see, we had a great day and we hope you enjoyed our pictures.
