YEAR 2 PIRATE DRESSUPS: On Wednesday,
9 May, 2001,
Year 2 children at Rochedale State School had their annual Pirate Day. They had been learning
about the Sea this term and finished this theme with the "Robbers
of the Sea".
The children enjoyed learning about the Jolly
Roger. The children really enjoyed dressing up and joining in the pirate
activities.
"We, me hearties, are from the good ship 'Lollipop' and we are all hungry fro
lollipops."
"I had to work for these pearls.
Look at the scar on my cheek!"
"I mightn't be dressed up but
you'd better watch out!"
"I'm missing an eye and I'm missing a
tooth but I'm tough. Look at my tattoo."
"I've lost my hand in a fight.
My name is Blackbeard!"
"I'm Captain Blacktooth with my special Captain's hat."
"I've just finished scrubbing the deck
and I'm not very happy!"
"I've just come back from the tattoo
shop. Can you count my tattoos?"
"The other pirates call me 'Dimples'!"
"I've just finished fighting an enemy
ship and I'm still not tired!"
"I'm a girl pirate but I still know how to fight!"
"I mean business, hand over your gold"
"I am the lookout on the Pirate Ship
and I have to watch for enemy ships"
"My name's One-eyed Jack and you'd better beware of me!"
"I'm fierce and mean. My parrot can
tell you all about me!"
