Hi! My name is Chris. I like playing with my friends and to play the saxophone. I live on the Gold Coast, right next to the beach. I also have two sisters their names are Jessica who’s 7 and Amy who’s 6.

One day my Dad came home from work (he works at the boat company down the road) and he said, "Let’s go on a trip to Norfolk Island! "

I bet we’ll be going on his BEST boat called the ‘Kingfisher’. The only problem is I get seasick so I went to the doctor and he gave me some medicine to take on the trip.

"I can’t wait ‘till we go," said Amy.
"Me too," said Jessica.

When I took the medicine it tasted disgusting, but after a while I felt GREAT! When we arrived on the island, we hired some equipment and we went climbing. It was very hard when we first tried so we went back to the store and we got a guide to show us how to do it. When we finally got to the top we all saw a shining cave. It seemed strange so we had a look inside. There was a HUGE red ruby inside. We went back to the village (where we got the equipment) and went straight to the Village Jeweller.

He was really AMAZED when he saw it and he had to ask, "How and WHERE did you find this beautiful ruby?"

When we said," In the mountains," he shook like he was scared and when I asked what was wrong he said in fright, "Beware, that ruby belongs to the gang of pirates that own this island. They forbid us to even go in the cave and the Captain said, if one of you scoundrels touch the ruby I’ll SLIT YOUR THROATS!! They’ll probably go after you so watch out!" We had a look around to only find a hotel to stay in. We went in got the key to our room and went out for a walk.

It happened so quick the pirates tied us up and the Cap’n (as the pirates called him) said , "Why do ye have me ruby?"

"We found it in the mountains," said Dad.

"Give me it now!!" snapped the pirate it was no use trying to escape it was impossible without a tool! Dad grabbed a cutlass that fell out of one of the pirate’s scabbards. It was so easy to escape!

Dad pulled out the sword (after he cut us free) and said, "Let us go with the ruby or ELSE!! "

The pirate Captain thought about this and said, "Okay, I’ll let you go but DON’T tell ANYONE where we are!"

We told the people in the village where they were whilst we set up the "Master Trap". It was a great plan. We called the local security who have been after those pirates for 2 whole years and we said, "Quick! Get all the officers you can find and follow us!"

The pirates came after us but we were ready! The officers hid in the shrubbery and they surprised the pirates so much!

I was so relived the pirates were captured and I don't think we will be going to Norfolk Island again.
