Year 7B at Rochedale State School, has been learning about Greek myths. Here's an excellent example by Kirsty, of her version of the the myth of Eros and Psyche.

Psyche was a beautiful young lady who was so beautiful that people came from everywhere just to see her loveliness.

Eros, a young man of unusual beauty, was worshipped as god of love and roamed the earth with a bow and many arrows that made people fall in love with each other.

Psyche was taken to a far off palace where she was destined to live with a mysterious monster she was never allowed to see.

Psyche was so overcome by suspicion and curiosity in not seeing her husband that she took a lamp and sharp knife into her room to see him.

Eros awoke while Psyche was looking at him with the knife in her hand and flew away in disappointment, never to return.

Psyche went to the temple of Aphrodite in the hope of repairing her marriage with with her husband and his mother.

Aphrodite, furious at Psyche, told her she must prove her patience and skill by doing three tasks.

After Psyche concluded all her tasks, Eros went to where she lay but only because he had finally forgiven her.

Zeus offered Psyche the wine of the gods so that she could become immortal.

Eros and Psyche were married in perpetual happiness and remained united forever.
