`YEAR 5'S TRIP TO MOVIEWORLD, 1999 by Matthew`

On 7 December, 1999, our class (5G) and the other classes (5P and the 5 composite) went to Movieworld. That morning I woke up very happy with myself, that I was going to Movieworld that day at nine o'clock. I got out of bed and started getting ready for school. When I got to school, I started playing wall ball the way people in Canberra play. Then when Mrs Crew got here, my friends and I started playing "Worms Armageddon" on the computers. When the bell went, everyone went straight to their seats ready to line p to go to the bus to Movieworld. After Mrs Crew had checked our stamps in our passports (we had to have 10 to go), we lined up ready to go.

5G were already lining up when 5P came out and 5G followed behind them to the buses. When 5P came out, 5G followed behind them to the buses.	5P went on the first bus and 5G went on the second. In case you didn't already know, I'm in 5G. On the way to movie world, we watched part of 101 Dalmatians.

Once we arrived at Movieworld, we got off the buses and went to eat morning tea. But my friend Geoffrey (Freddo) in 5G left his bag in the bus and he had to walk all the way back to the bus to get it.	While we were eating morning tea, Mrs Crew gave out the tickets and Simon took a picture of it. As we walked in the gate, everyone was taking magazines that were on the counter just because they had a picture of Pokemon ion the front.

We had to hurry because we didn't want to miss anything. We were met by our guide whose name was Sam. The first thing we went to was the talk about how movies are made in the 3D Theatre. There we were given a talk about making movies.	The first thing Sam told us is that there are 3 parts to a movie: pre production, production and post production. I thought it was amazing how they use the blue screen so they can make someone look anywhere. And the green screen to make the characters change.

The other thing we did in the same place was Mrs Crew and Sam put a pretend axe cut ona couple of the kids' foreheads.	After they had finished, it looked realistic and disgusting. They even gave one a bleeding nose.

Doesn't she look bad!!	Isn't it this great blood nose!!

We walked to a line where the buses where going to take us to the Studio Tour. Except the buses must have been broken down so we had to walk. They picked some people to be in the shows and Aimee was one of them. The first thing they told us about was the blue screen again and how they do it. Aimee was on a ladder on a narrow ledge and it looked like she was going to fall off.	Then a man was made to look like he was flying as Superman. The second stage the took us to was the Foley Stage. The told us they do not record the sounds as they are making a movie, they only record the people's voices. So the sound engineer has to make the sounds while the movie is replayed. It takes 6 years to qualify to be a sound engineer.

Then we finally went to the third room. A man was chosen to be a captain flying a plane called the "Memphis Belle". They made a plane up into two separate parts and they can put a camera in the back of the front part so you can see the people and one watching the outside and also one looking at the tail and then you can see the whole aeroplane. After that we went into the Gift Shop	The people who didn't bring any money who sat outside and waited for the others. There were only 4 people who didn't bring money and Mrs Crew gave A.J her esky to look after and he left it behind. Anyway, then we waited for the street parade with the characters from the movie Batman, Looney Toons and Austin Powers.

The next thing on the agenda was the Batman Ride. Halfway through the street parade, we left to go on the Batman Ride. We line dup when the next people were getting n. After that we were next in line. We got on. Then a fake emergency siren went off and the girl pulled out a book and the secret passage opened up and we walked through. Then we were told there were robbers ont he loose. We entered a vehicle that had a tracking device connected to Batman's Batmobile.	All through the ride when we were crashing into things, all the girls were screaming and it gave everyone a headache!! Next we headed for Looney Toons Village. At the front of Looney Toons Village, Bug's Bunny's legs were made into an arch way for people to walk through. The only ride we went on in Looney Toons Village was the River Ride where you have to find Bugs Bunny because he dug down from America into Australia. Almost everyone found Bugs Bunny.

The next ride we went on was the Wild Wild West Adventure Ride. As we went to the ride, we had to go through a really old village to get there. There was this great painting that looked so real you thought you could walk through it!!	Before you are allowed to go on the ride, you have to watch a video on it but it only goes for about one minute. You go on a boat up the mountain and then you get a big surprise when you start going backwards down the hill.

Then you just think you've finally stopped when you start going backwards again. Finally you stop and then you find yourself in a little Indian tribe with their weird tents.	Then you go straight down the face of a mountain on an almost vertical slope and land with such a great impact that all your clothes get drenched in water!!

Next we went to the Police Academy. But we took a shortcut through the cafe to get to it. When we got there, there was a police officer at the front and he kept on doing funny stuff to the people arriving. As soon as we arrived, I ate my lunch and I was very hungry. After a while the show began, starting off with some robbers escaping from the prison and stealing a motor bike and riding off with it.	Then a police officer came out telling us about the show. Then a better ranking police officer came out but it was his day off. But of course he was still in command. So he told the junior officer to sit, as if she was a dog. The officer started to talk to us about the robbery. Then he picked four people to come up and be on the look out. One of them was named Rodney and he was one of the professionals.

These were the things that happened to Rodney: 1. He fell off the balcony where he was on the lookout. 2. He bashed into a tin door but then he went inside.	3. Fire crackers blew him out of the tin shed and over the building. 4. He almost got hit by a car.

The Chief got blown right out of the toilet and got a real shock!!	So did this recruit when the robber nearly got him with a bomb!!

Luckily the bomb only blew up on the street.	Soon the robbers were heading off in their helicopter.

But after all his hard work, Rodney shot the cannon and hit the helicopter that the robbers were getting away in. It blew up and we could feel the heat from it!! The robbers were finally caught and locked up.	After this wonderful trip to Movieworld, we got back on the bus and headed back to Rochedale State School. Oh yeah I almost forgot, we got to see the rest of 101 Dalmatians. by Matthew
The kids were really well behaved again this year. It was a pleasure to take them out for the day - G.Crew
