Library News - Term 2 Week 8
Term 1
Tell –a –joke Day. As part of the focus on the genre comedy the Library held a session for lower and upper primary for the students to tell us their favourite jokes. As you can see, both sessions were very popular and judges had some very difficult decisions.
Michael Salmon
Michael visited our school on the 26th May and talked to the preps to grade threes about writing and illustrating books. Michael has been writing for many years and is probably best known for his dinosaur picture books. He told the children how he started writing at school and how his interest in drawing developed. He drew pictures of his most well known characters and two of our students were lucky enough to have caricatures of themselves drawn by him. One of our preps was invited up to draw a picture of Michael. After his presentation he was available for book signings and photographs.
Library
Games Days.
For two big lunches each week students are encouraged to come to the library to play games. Theses days are very popular with children and a large variety of games are used.
