On Tuesday, 12 August,
Year 1 children at Rochedale State School, walked to Itzstein's
hydroponic lettuce farm in Miles Platting Road at Rochedale, just
down the road from the school.
They began their tour in the seed room
and the moved to the netted areas where the students were able to
observe the various stages in the growth of lettuce. They even
tasted the leaves of the different varieties of lettuce.
The students took some lettuce back
to school and prepared their own salad sandwiches for lunch. |
