Spider and had found two strange looking spiders in my home tonight and was really worried.
Thank you! You helped relieve some worry when(after killing them) I found from your page they
were Huntsman spiders. I would like more info on the Hobo spider if you could get it for me.
That would be really helpful. Thank you again for your site. It helped me in a real time of

Comments: I liked all the facts on all the spiders, accept the 'Daddy Long Legs' section.
Because you kept referring to the Daddy Long Legs as a "Spider" when in-fact a Daddy Long Legs
is not a spider it's an insect. This is not my opinion this is science, scientists say spiders
consist of two body parts, insects consist of three. Spiders have two & The Daddy Long Legs have
three. Making them insects.

Comments: I have been looking at/for spider sites for a few days now. I didn't have too much luck finding what I was trying to at other sites. When I came across this site was I was very very VERY impressed. I have never been a fan of spiders at all. I recently found some spiders in my house that I have come in close contact with (including in my room!) I figured that if I looked at information about the spiders I found, I would be less wary/frightened of them. I found exactly what I wanted to at this site, which actually surprised me! When I found out that this site was put together by 5th graders I was even more shocked and impressed. I have been to many sites in the past few days, many done by college students. I must say that I found this site puts others to shame! Very awesome, you guys! Thank you for calming my spider fears!! ;)

I was trying to identify the exact kind of spider. As far as I know they ARE Widow spiders. Yuck!!!! We called the exterminator because we were worried that our 4 1/2 year old or 2 month old baby would be bitten. If you have any info on the Red Widow spider I would be interested in digesting it. Comments: Hey! This is A great web site I learned some good infomation. I'll never forget my experience here. I have always enjoyed spiders and I always will. One time I had a face to face incounter with a Sydney Funnel-web. I'm not a liar, and don't ask how it got to California but I did. I'll tell you all about it.

Someone from my dad's work had caught a spider in there Basement. She desided to bring it to work and sell it. Someone told here that it was a Wolf Spider. My dad did not want to keep the " Wolf Spider " but he asked if he could bring it home for awile to show me and my sitster April. She agreed. When dad came home with a spider in a jar I was very amazed. I began to study the spider. It was obveously not a Wolf Spider, but after awile I started to wonder what it was.

The next day I brought it to school, I showed it to my class. I was hoping Someone might have the anser I was looking for thier unfortunetley everyone thought it was a local Turanchula.

When school was over, as I was Headed home I tapped on the glass of the jar and it used the Funnel-web ready to srike position I was very suprized and scared of course. Very scared I looked under the jaws and on the under-side of each chelicara was a orange marking a line in a forward direction much simular to the ones on the Funnel-web. Once I got home went on the internet to look for further proof I went to this site and thats where I found it.

I also own my own small Comic Company Called Cosmic Comics. Sorry If you feel sore about Advertisement on your web site. but any ways I will keep in contact and let you know when I have an E-mail Address. Oh also one more thing I haven't realy got much together yet so I'm still working on Cosmic Comics and I'll Tell You When You're 11 years old and your trying to make a Bussiness all alone. So it should take About two years to get it all together. Remember I'll tell you my E-mail once I get one. So if you have any questions just ask.

Great site !! See you later.

I decided to surf the net and found your Spiders Homepage....I looked up the spider that was in my house, and it was a Wolf Spider! I live in inner city Sydney, and didn't that we would get spiders like that! But after reading the information you provided on Wolf Spiders, I realised that it was possible. I think you kids are doing a fantastic job - you certainly helped me. Best of luck, and keep developing this wonderful site of yours!
Best wishes,
Claire.

Comments: Excellent spider survey. This Arizona resident appreciated reading about some of the spiders we share in common, and which make various cameo appearances in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Your comments on tarantulas were a bit severe, as many are very unaggressive(mexican redknee, mexican fireleg, etc.), and have bites no worse than a bee sting. I lose little sleep about the large(up to ten inches!) tarantulas we see occasionally, but get very concerned about the brown recluse and black widows common to the American Southwest. Our policy is to place spiders outside without harming them, even the venemous ones. Scorpions do not fare quite as well, as they are harder to safely catch and remove. Paul

Comments: I really think this web page is really great! It gives you information in my opinion you couldn't find anywhere unless you are willing to use all of your time. I recently have been bitten by a brown recluse spider on my leg and this had to happen during my semester tests at school in May (nice timing huh?). Ever since then I have been wanting to know more about spiders and different kinds. This web page has been very efficient for me.

Comments: This is a most excellent spider page. This class has got to be so much fun. Im 17 years old and I wish I could be in it! =) Anyways, I love spiders after being deathly afraid of them for most of my life. Now I have a pet Rose Haired tarantula that I love and like to cuddle with (really! She'll let you cuddle with her!) and a particular species of bird spider that is native to the Amazon Rainforest. I forget the name of her species, Salmon something. Anyways, she is just a baby now but full grown she is supposed to have the leg span of a dinner plate! Im going to be far into my 20s when that happens though. Well...bye bye. =)

Comments: I have to say,'Well Done!!!'. I've always been fascinated by spiders and when I found out that this weeks creature was "Spiders" I was interested. Then I picked your Web Page and learned much more than I'd expected. In fact I just recently moved to the mountains of Northern California (USA) near Yosemite. It was just 3 weeks ago that two of my neighbors were bitten by some thing they didn't see, or even know had bitten them. They both developed very nasty looking sores on their body at the areas of the bites. These lesions were like little volcanic eruptions approximately 1/3 inch in diameter, which grew to about 1 inch or more in a few days. They festered and pussed and swelled as they grew. However the people said that the sores weren't hurting them. They assumed that they'd been bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider, but haven't sought any medical attention. After looking at your Web information on the Recluse, I can take this to them (a printout) and show them what the Recluse looks like and affirm my recommendation they see a doctor to treat the lesions. Thank you for being so thorough.
Sincerely Impressed,
Dianna Rebert (dinasoar@aol.com)
