Education
week was held in Queensland schools from 17 May to 22 May, 1999. At Rochedale State
School, we celebrated Education Week with many activities involving both students and
parents. Every day of the week saw different, exciting activities of some kind for the
various year levels.
WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday, 30 children from year 6 took part in the annual Rochedale Challenge. The Challenge was held at Rochedale High School and is open to all the local primary schools. Our six teams of 5 children performed well at the variety of physical and mental challenges. One of our teams made up of Brodie , Ashleigh , Brighid , Jarrad and Taila performed extremely well and were rewarded with second place overall.Also on Wednesday, 19 May, Year 1s and 1j held an Open Day for the parents to
come and observe their children at work and play. They had a BBQ lunch and spent the afternoon on outside activities.
