INFORMATION ABOUT
OUR STUDENT COUNCIL
At the beginning of each year, classes from Years 4 – 7, choose a Student Council representative. These children, along with our Year 7 school leaders, meet frequently and brainstorm ideas to enhance not only the lives of the children here at Rochedale State School but also children in other corners of the globe.
They are guided and supported by a group of volunteer teachers – this year – Mrs Margot Calder, Mrs Gabby Pitman and Mrs Leanne Kaye. One of the Student Council’s greatest responsibilities is to fund raise to support Bo Bo, who is part of a World Vision initiative. Being responsible for Bo Bo allows our children to become aware of the lives of others who are much less fortunate than themselves and more importantly, to be able to do something about it. This “action” is one the essential elements of an IB school and enhances our children’s idea of themselves as a global citizen.
Pavement Art, Hand Ball competitions, Talent Quests, Crazy hair and sock events at our Walk-a-thon, sausage sizzles and icy pole days… are all Student Council driven. They become involved in issues they feel strongly about and regularly address assembly on Fridays.

Talent Quest Winners
The Student council would like to congratulate all

SAUSAGE SIZZLE
