Rochedale State School has an active Student Council, comprised of representatives from each class - a boy and girl - from Years 5 to 7. These children meet with Miss Lee and discuss issues which affect the whole school community.

Here's some of the activities that our Student Council has been involved in this year:

2007 STUDENT COUNCIL REPORT

In Term 1, we managed to raise $850 from the Free Dress Day and the Senior and Junior Discos. With this money, we are able to send birthday wishes to Rosa Man, who is our sponsor child through World Vision and get sports equipment for lunch time activities for Years 1-3. Further fundraising will be held to equip other grades in the future.

In second term we held a Handball Tournament held at lunch times.

Shop for our School. Our school is participating in the Westfield Shop for Your School Promotion. Please click the logo for more information on helping our school earn points.

Support our school as many ways as you can. There are events which will give us further 2000 points for each one we participate in. These include ‘Recycled Art Competition’, ‘Chess Championship’, ‘Shine for your school’, ‘Brainiac’, ‘Mini Olympics’, and ‘School War Cry Playoff’.

Needed: Chess players – if you are interested please see Miss Karen Lee.

Pancakes were for sale on Thursday 24 May for 50c at lunch near the hall, to raise money for the Queensland Cancer Council. Thank you for all your support towards raising funds for the Queensland Cancer Council.

Between the Handball Competition, sale of Pancakes for the Biggest Morning Tea and ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ mugs, we were able to raise approximately $240 for the Queensland Cancer Council and in loving memory of Shane Galt. So once again, THANK YOU.
