On Wednesday, 30 May, 2012, Years 7S and 7B students from Rochedale State School went on a full day excursion organised by the Chinese teacher. First we travelled by bus to the Chung Tian Buddhist Temple at Underwood Park in Rochedale South. Chung Tian Temple, which means “Middle Heaven”, was constructed in 1992 using traditional Chinese Buddhist architecture.  We were given a guided tour of all aspects of the Temple including meditating, sampling Chinese green tea, trying Chinese writing and buying souvenirs in the souvenir shop. We were also presented with a beautiful book for our library by a Buddhist nun. Then we travelled by bus to Sunnybank, to Jui Wan Ban Chinese restaurant for lunch. What a great spread of yummy Chinese food - fried rice, dumplings, rolls with pork, prawns and beef.  The students enjoyed the food so much they had to take home doggy bags of the left overs!! Finally each class took their turn in investigating Fantastic Food, an Asian shop full of traditional Asian food, vegetables and fruit, spices and best of all biscuits and lollies!! Then it was on the bus and back to school!! What a great day full of good karma!!!
