Habitat:
Wolves are found in Asia, Eastern and Western Europe.

Movement:
They run with their long, slender legs. At the end of their legs are pads which protect the their paws.

Protection:
A pack of wolves mark their territory and if another pack enters their territory they will growl to try to scare the other pack away. If the other pack is not scared the wolves will fight using their sharp teeth and claws.

Size/Life Span:
An adult wolf can measure up to 1.6 in length, including the tail. The tail is less then half the length of the body.

Covering/Coat:
A wolf’s coat can be white, black, brown or grey. If the wolf lives in the snow the fur is very thick.

Food:
Wolves eat small animals like birds and rats. They also eat berries. If the wolves are in packs they sometimes can attack large mammals if they are weak, old or very young.

Reproduction:
In spring a female wolf can have 1 to 11 cubs. The adult wolves feed the cubs by regurgitating food. The cubs stay with their parents in till the following winter.
