Habitat:
Tasmanian Devils are found only in Tasmania. They once occurred on mainland Australia, with fossils having been found.

Movement:
Tasmanian Devils use their legs to run and walk.

Protection:
It bites using their strong jaws. They are known to have the strongest jaws out of many animals.

They have very strong claws too and they run fast which allows them to get away from enemies. They are known for their ferocity and foul tempers.

Size/Life Span:
The length from its head to tail is 52 to 80cm. It weighs 4.1kg to 11.8kg.

Covering/Coat:
A Tasmanian Devil has dark brown to black fur with white patches on the chest and hind parts. It is very soft, like hair.

Food:
They eat rodents, lizards, wallabies and other animals. One time a family of Tasmanian devils were found to have eaten a horse and left only the skull and tail. They scavenge dead animals of all kinds and usually eat all the parts including bones and fur. They hunt at night.

Reproduction:
They are mammals so they have their babies live and they go into a backward opening pouch. They stay in their mother's pouch for 4 months, then the babies stay in a grass lined den.

When they are born their weight is about 3.1kg.
