Year 5G at Rochedale State School have been doing some projects on animals. They had to follow a set procedure for completing their projects according to the steps below:
Firstly, the children were given a sheet with these headings:

Animal Name: 4. Size/Life Span

Then the children had to write notes on their sheet under these 7 headings using information they found by searching the Internet using www.google.com and typing in their topic as the search word.

1. Habitat 5. Covering/Coat
2. Movement 6. Food
3. Protection 7. Reproduction

They also were shown how to save a picture from pages they found in their search, into a special folder they created on the C: drive of one of our networked computers, using Network Neighbourhood. Then they printed out the pictures they saved, to use on the sheets of cardboard they were given for their projects. Notes from their sheet were rewritten in their own words in a rough copy book, checked and then typed up in Word 2000 and printed out. The children used Word Art to create fancy heading for their project title and headings. Here's the information from the children's projects:

Tasmanian Devil by Jas. & Britta Wolf by Cassie Red Kangaroo by Jeremy
Elephants by Kaitlin & Rachel King Cobra by Chris D. Mountain Lion by James
Echidna by Will & Travis Siberian Tiger by Madeline & Shane Connemara Pony by M & M
